The lens is designed with user comfort in mind, offering a balanced feel when paired with Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. Its moisture-resistant construction adds reliability, allowing photographers to work confidently in varying outdoor conditions.

Versatile Focal Range

This makes the lens particularly effective for portraits, lifestyle photography, and general shooting. It allows photographers to move seamlessly from wider compositions to tighter framing without changing lenses. The extended reach up to 100mm is especially beneficial for capturing flattering portraits with pleasing background compression.

Optical Performance

The lens delivers impressive image quality across its zoom range. Its advanced optical design ensures sharpness from edge to edge, even when shooting at the maximum aperture of f/2.8.

The constant aperture provides consistent exposure and strong low-light performance. Color reproduction is natural, and contrast remains high, producing vibrant yet realistic images. The 9-blade circular aperture enhances the quality of bokeh, creating smooth and creamy background blur that complements portrait work.

Autofocus Performance

Equipped with Tamron’s VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor, the lens offers fast, precise, and quiet autofocus. This makes it suitable for both still photography and video recording.

The autofocus system performs reliably when tracking moving subjects and ensures sharp focus even in challenging situations. Its quiet operation is especially useful for video creators who need minimal noise during recording.

Close-Up Capability

The lens also excels in close-up shooting, with a minimum focusing distance of approximately 0.22m at the wide end. This allows for creative compositions, including detailed shots and semi-macro photography.

Photographers can achieve a strong sense of depth and subject separation even when working at closer distances.
